The Palmview to Kawana Greenlink is an active transport, public transport and emergency vehicle corridor proposed between the future town centres of Palmview and Kawana and the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Welcome to the Palmview to Kawana Greenlink website. This site will be updated regularly during the greenlink's Feasibility Study which commenced in July 2011 and will run through until the end of 2011.
The Sunshine Coast Council is committed to its vision to be Australia's most sustainable region – vibrant, green, diverse. To assist in achieving this vision, council is continuing to investigate and plan for dedicated transport corridors that encourage public and active transport modes as a viable alternative to private motor vehicle travel.
Council has appointed Arup to conduct a study to identify a feasible corridor for the Greenlink. A number of investigations will be undertaken in the coming months to assess the environmental, engineering and social impacts and benefits of potential greenlink options.
Arup and council want to involve you in this process during coming months by presenting information about the study to the community for comment as the Arup team progresses its work.
Council endorses greenlink option
Council recently endorsed the preferred option for the Palmview to Kawana Greenlink. Known as ‘Option D’, the endorsed option for the greenlink utilises Palmview’s planned road network, then runs to the south in a gazetted road reserve, passing to the south of the Ring Tank before connecting into Rainforest Drive. It then follows the route of the Meridan Sports Field access road and links to Kawana Way.
